NOTD: Vanilla Fruitcake

Hey everyone!

Just sharing a quick NOTD!

So I was feeling like going for a colorful but glittery look to uplift my stressful days because of so many papers I have to write so I took some of my glittery nail polishes and created the NOTD seen above.

I used the following polishes:

Holika Holika Magic Pop Nail Natural in 04
Tony Moly's Lacquer Glitter GI08 Jingle Bell
Diou Vernis in No. 11 (I think this is a rip off of the Dior Vernis. Haha! I can't remember how I got it)

So I used the Holika Holika polish as base then topped it with the glittery polishes.

Because of the "Christmasy" finish of the polish from Tony Moly, it accidentally looked like a fruit cake... but a lighter version!

It does look festive, but I guess it does not really suit my personality much. Haha!

And that's my NOTD! :P

Maybelline 24 HR Color Tattoo by EyeStudio in Tough as Taupe

Hey dears!

What a relaxing, rainy Sunday afternoon, huh?
It's the perfect bed weather while watching your favorite movies or series or browsing for more makeup discoveries online!

Since I'm also planning to watch more episodes of some Koreanovelas, I'll keep this post short and just share a swatch of this product.

Maybelline 24 HR Color Tattoo by EyeStudio in Tough as Taupe

My sister actually picked this color. She like taupes. :P

I actually thought that it would be like a nude-ish taupe based on the color that you see from the bottom of the packaging... but it's not. You'll see the true color later on this post.

I've already posted a sort of review of this product on a previous post. You can read it here.

The packaging is still the classy clear tub with a plastic black cap. Easy to use because the makeup brush can easily fit and it seals tightly.

Inside, you get to see this matte dark taupe shade.

I was actually surprised at how dark it is. I don't think I can use it as a base just like what I do to most of my cream eyeshadows... well, I can use it when I wear a smokey taupe eyeshadow look...

I might not use it very often since I don't wear smokey eyes much but I still do love the texture of this product. It still doesn't stay long on its own as it creases on my oily lids unfortunately, but when topped with a powder eyeshadow, in can last the whole day.

And that's all for today!
What shade have you tried from the Maybelline 24 HR Color Tattoo by EyeStudio?

The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain in Pink Hibiscus 001

Hello loves!

Are you a fan of The Body Shop's Lip and Cheek Stain?
I know for a fact that their lip and cheek stains are one of their bestsellers in the Philippines and most of my friends who are also makeup enthusiasts have used this before.

This year, The Body Shop added more shades for us to try and they're also in this cutie-size tube! There are nine shades for us to play with and I currently have one of them...

The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain in Pink Hibiscus 001

The product was sent to me by TBS Philippines along with products from their British Rose skincare range.

Info from the website
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A lightweight, long-lasting, cheeky kiss of color for your lips and cheeks. This gluten-free is enriched with moisturizing Community Trade Aloe for protection and comfort that lasts all day.

FOR CHEEKS – Apply on the apples of your cheeks and use your fingers, to blend. This product can be applied on bare skin or over your cream/powder make-up base.

We source our Community Trade honey from the UNESCO Sheka Forest Biosphere Reserve in the southern region of Ethiopia, where African bees distil the nectar of rainforest flowers to create a distinctive floral honey. Our Community Trade honey skin and hair care products aids miniaturization for soft, smooth skin and hair.

FULL INGREDIENTS

Aqua/Water/Eau (Solvent), Glycerin (Humectant), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder (Skin Conditioning Agent - Humectant), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Aminomethyl Propanol (pH Adjuster), Panthenol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Methylparaben (Preservative). [+/- CI 17200/Red 33 (Colorant), CI 19140/Yellow 5 (Colorant)].

I think that what made The Body Shop's Lip and Cheek Stain such a popular and well-loved product is its affordability, long-lasting quality, its multifunctional, and it doesn't dry up your lips.

Before the emergence of so many makeup brands carrying tints, The Body Shop's has been there and I think it will continue to be a trusted product for years to come.

That being said, I'm glad that the brand tries to innovate this well-loved product by introducing more shades!

This shade I have here, Pink Hibiscus, is pretty close to their most popular shade Rose Pink.

The quality of the new tints is almost the same except the featured ingredient here is Honey while the tint has Marula Oil.

It has a doe-foot applicator. It can carry enough product to cover my lips. The packaging is pretty simple and I like that it's clear so that we have an idea of the shade we're getting.

Here's a swatch

It has a lovely natural-looking tint. It dries pretty quickly so you better blend fast.

Once it sets, it will last a loooong time!

Here's my face with the product both applied on the lips and cheeks.

I applied quite a lot on the cheeks so that the camera will capture the shade. Haha! For the lips, I had to do 2-3 coats so that it will give me this rosy finish.

It looks very natural if you put on the right amount and it is very lightweight—like you aren't wearing any at all! I like that it acts as both blush and lip color so it's a great travel buddy!

What do you think of this product? Have you tried the other shades? Which one?

LOTD: Melted Marshmallow

Hello everyone!

Sharing with you my Lipstick/s of the Day! :)

I love peachy pink shades (if it's not obvious enough on our website name). So most of my makeup is in that shade, especially my lipsticks. But even though I already have a number of peachy pink lipstick shades, I tend to mix and match some to get a specific shade. Here's one of my favorite mix:

And this is the result!

I apply the Ofra Liquid lipstick first and once it dries, I add the Laneige Lipstick.

I really like this combination. The peachy-ness of the the Laneige lippie gives warmth to the OFRA Liquid lipstick. It results to a soft, creamy, warm pink shade like a melted marshmallow! The liquid lippie also helps in prolonging the staying power of the lipstick so it can last almost the whole day! Yay!

So what do you think of this lippie look?

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Skincare Range

Hello loves!

I just want to share this skin care set I bought during my visit at Jeju, South Korea last year. I bought this at their Duty Free for less than US $40.00 and I think that that was just a super great deal because I love every single product included!

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Skincare Range

The set includes four products—a toner, cleanser, and two clay masks. I'll be mentioning my thoughts about each of them. I also included the product descriptions from their boxes. :)

 Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Toner

Info from the website:
What it is
Daily toner for oily skin

1. Sebum control technology™: Controls excessive sebum to keep your skin looking fresh and soft.

2. A wipe-off type toner that removes residue left on the skin after washing the face

3. Shake well before use: The mineral powder inside helps treat pores and absorbs excessive sebum.

What is Jeju volcanic clay?
Jeju volcanic clay is made from minerals released by volcanic explosions in Jeju. It's categorized as a preserved alkaline resource and is effective in removing sebum and other impurities.

What else you need to know
Free from: parabens, synthetic fragrance, colorants, mineral oil, and imidazolidinyl urea
How to use

1. Shake well so that the mineral powder is mixed in well.
2. Apply toner to a cotton pad.
3. Gently wipe it around your face, avoiding your eyes and mouth.

I think this toner is okay if you're just looking for an oil-free product that will help clean your skin thoroughly after washing without being harsh. It stays true to its claim of getting rid of the excess oil on my face, BUT it doesn't help controlling it. So yeah, I think it's good if you're after the cleanliness part.

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam

What it is
Absorb sebum and purify pores with Jeju's volcanic cleansing foam

1. A pore-cleansing foam containing Jeju volcanic scoria that strongly absorbs sebum and purifies clogged pores
2. Volcanic scoria--One of Jeju's natural ingredients
Jeju volcanic scoria is an alkaline substance with pH level similar to the human body. It is an ingredient free from impurities.

*Pore cleansing foam vs. Pore scrub foam
-Pore Cleansing Foam: Daily Pore Cleansing--Removes dirt from pores
-Pore Scrub Foam: Pore Cleansing (1-2 times a week)-- A gentle scrub foam that removes dirt and dead skin cells from pores.

How to use
Apply a small amount of foam into your hands and work it into a rich lather. After massaging your face with the foam, rinse it off with lukewarm water.
Ingredients
Wash away pore-clogging impurities with Jeju volcanic scoria!
Volcanic scoria is a pure, and fairly rare, ingredient formed from lava as it cools after a volcanic eruption.
It has a powerful sebum-absorbing capacity and washes away impurities while moisturizing skin, leaving it cleaner and healthier than ever before.

I really like this cleansing foam. I REALLY LIKE it. After I remove my makeup, I use this with a face cleansing brush and it really takes care of the rest of the dirt and makeup remaining on my face. When I use my toner, I don't see anymore dirt! The cotton is still clean.

It doesn't leave my face dry as well and even when it gets close to my eyes, I don't feel any sting. AND it tastes sweet too! I don't recommend that you actually taste it though. Haha! A little goes a long way too so a 150ml tube like this one can actually last you a long while!

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

What it is
3-in-1: Removes Sebum + Brightens Skin + Treats Blemishes! Soothing and Moisturizing

Great absorption of sebum thanks to Jeju volcanic clay!
Clean Jeju volcanic ingredients, made from hardened lava, deeply cleanse pores to purify your skin.

1. Amazing absorption of sebum and impurities
The fine, porous structure of Jeju volcanic clay strongly absorbs sebum inside pores.
Remove impurities and give your skin a clear and complete look.

2. Creates good conditions for skin and makeup
Our clay mask, containing volcanic scoria from Jeju, absorbs sebum and impurities to create clean skin. It delivers minerals deep inside your skin, brightens and clarifies your skin tone, and creates an ideal texture.

*Super volcanic clay vs. Original volcanic clay
- Super volcanic pore clay mask: Great for treating pores!
- Volcanic pore clay mask (Original): Great for controlling sebum!

What else you need to know
Free from: mineral oil, animal-originated ingredients, artificial fragrances, imidazolidinyl urea
How to use
After washing your face and applying toner, gently smoothen the product over your entire face. Avoid using the product on your eye and lip areas. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water after 15 minutes. (Use 1-2 times per week)

This is actually what I was after. I can't remember where I read it but Jeju Clay Masks are a must to try when you're in Jeju. I wasn't able to go around the shopping areas to find more brands that has Jeju clay, so when I was in Duty Free and saw this, I immediately bought the set!

And I wasn't disappointed! This clay mask is so good! It makes my face cleaner, it takes care of excess oil, I feel like my face got softer after I wash it off, and I also feel like my pores got cleaner and smaller too! I actually just finished the whole tub and I use it at least once a week to unclog my pores from all the oil, dirt, pollution, and products I put on my face. It's really good so I'm not surprised why this has so many good reviews online and why it's a bestseller!

And since I've finished the Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask, I'm now using another bestseller...

Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

What it is
6-in-1 Pore care:
Shrinks pores + Controls sebum + Exfoliates + Deeply cleanses + Brightens tone + Cools

Winner of 22 Global Beauty Awards

1. What is the Super volcanic pore mask?

Jeju volcanic clay is made from minerals released by volcanic explosions in Jeju. It's categorized as a preserved alkaline resource and is effective in removing sebum and other impurities.
(Contains 6,020 mg of Jeju volcanic clay)

2. Strong removal of sebum thanks to the Super volcanic capsules
As the capsule bursts, the mask exfoliates and removes dead skin cells. The AHA ingredient chemically exfoliates and smoothes out skin.

3. Clear, Contracted, and Refreshed Pores!
The strong absorption of sebum and cooling effect of the clay refreshes the skin and contracts pores.

What else you need to know
Super volcanic clay vs Original volcanic clay
-Super volcanic pore clay mask: Great for treating pores!
-Volcanic pore clay mask (Original): Great for controlling sebum!

How to use

After washing your face, gently apply toner on your face to even out your skin texture. Then, apply the mask over your entire face, avoiding your eye and lip areas. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water after 10 minutes.

I think the difference between this one and the Jeju one is that this has more volcanic ash in it... I'm not sure with this theory but if you check the ingredients list, the volcanic ash content appears earlier in the list in the super volcanic clay mask compared to the other one. And for reference, the first to appear in the list means it has the most percentage in the product.

I also use this at least once a week. I honestly can't tell the difference yet. Both products yield the same results, which is cleaner and softer skin. My pores also feels cleaner and  my skin feels like it can "breathe" better. Excess oil is removed without my skin feeling dry. So it's all GOOD! I'm a fan!

What I love about the brand, Innisfree is that even if it's still considered a drugstore brand, it still tries to be environmentally friendly which is reflected in their ingredients and also their campaigns. Check out these info from their website:

Since I'm so satisfied with ALL the products in this set, I want to try more products from Innisfree. I also think that I will buy another tub of clay mask once I run out. <3 font="">

And those are my thoughts on these four products. Which of these would you like to try?

Ellana Cosmetics Sheer Natural Mineral Bronzer in Harmony

Hey dearies!

I think it's no secret that I'm a fan of Ellana Mineral Cosmetics. Just look at my reviews of their products! :P

I've also convinced my officemates to try the brand out and they absolutely love Ellana's foundations and concealer-foundations. So what we do is we buy online at the same time to avail the free shipping (for purchases amounting to PhP 1k and up). There are also times when we take advantage of Ellana Cosmetics' promos like when your purchase reach PhP 1.5k, you get a freebie. During one of our purchases, I was able to get this freebie, with the consent of my officemates of course...

Ellana Cosmetics Sheer Natural Mineral Bronzer in Harmony

They let me have it since most of them are beginners in makeup and do not use bronzers... yet. Lucky me. ;)

Ellana is the mineral makeup brand that made me like mineral makeup. So I would gladly accept and use any freebie from them because I like every product that I've tried from them so far.

So for this post, I will share with you the swatch of this mineral makeup bronzer and how I look like when it's applied.

It's in a loose powder form. You gotta be careful at the amount of product you get on your makeup brush because mineral makeup can get very pigmented. Make sure to tap off the excess powder from your brush before applying.

Above photo is the swatch

Most bronzers I've tried have this brick red-brown color that looks better with cool-toned skin. Harmony has a warm, gold-bronze shade that will compliment my warm skin better.

I use it for contour actually. See the photos below...

Left photo: no bronzer
Right photo: with bronzer

My face with only foundation, brows, eyeliner, and bronzer on
(My brows are super strong here... I can never perfect my brows when I take blog photos for some reason LOL)

It gives my face dimension, especially since my foundation is matte that makes my face appear flat. It also gives the illusion of a slimmer face (wooohoooo!). I like that the shimmery finish of Harmony looks very natural on my face. It can stay the whole day, but it really depends on my base makeup... my face is very oily so when I use skincare and makeup that can keep my skin from being shiny, the bronzer will stay for the whole day with the rest of my face makeup.

But what I love most of all is that it stays true to its claim that it's "sheer natural" because I don't get any harsh lines when I apply it (I get that a lot with loose powder blushes and I had to blend and blend for so long).

So as you can see, it's another Dawn-approved product from Ellana Mineral Cosmetics! Yay!

Do you also wear bronzers? What brand do you use?

Cheers,
