My Top 10 Favorite Beauty Products

I was tagged by Janinay a few days ago to share my top 10 skin care/beauty products. I'm quite excited to do this post although I actually haven't thought about which ones are my favorites yet so I browsed around my stuff and picked out my most loved items.

So here are my fave products (these are in random order):

1. Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation in OC10
2. NARS duo Laguna Bronzer and Orgasm Blush
3. Dollface Cosmetics 88 piece Eyeshadow Palette
4. Bobbi Brown Lipstick in Italian Rose
5. She Uemura Eyelash Curler
6. Maybelline Volumizing Cat Eyes Mascara
7. Rice Bran Cyleina Soap
8 Celeteque Oil Control Toner

 9. Glow by J.Lo

 10. Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC 25/30 (My skin got lighter so I switched to 25)

So there you have it... my favorite pretty things. Most of them I've reviewed or at least mentioned in one of our posts. I have a lot of eye makeups there since I love making creative makeup. Not much on skin care though. I haven't found the THE products yet... still experimenting. Feel free to suggest some products that are a must-try! :)

Review: Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation

I wasn't planning on buying anything vanity related when I went to SM Mall of Asia last week, but as I passed by Watsons and saw the Majolica Majorca stall, it was quite difficult for me to ignore it, especially because I was happy with the last purchases I had from them.

I was so intrigued with their foundation, not just because of the gold, embossed package design, but because of the pore covering quality it claims it could do. The friendly saleslady (I forgot her name... sorry!) was so accommodating and answered all my questions and even told me about their promos. Anyway, without much hesitation, I bought one with the uber pretty packaging as well. :P

Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation
Php 450.00 - packaging
Php 895.00 - foundation

The color I bought is in OC10

Here's a closeup shot of my cheeks. as you can see, I have huge pores. That's why I wanted to try this product so much.

Here's a swatch of the foundation on my palm.
A - applied thickly
B - when blended

swatch on paper

They provided instructions on how to properly use the foundation. Here's what it says:

To use:
-Apply foundation after balancing skin with skin care products and makeup base.
-Take the foundation onto the 1/2 of the sponge evenly (for one side of the cheek) and apply from the center of the face outwards. After the cheek is finished, take up the same amount of foundation and apply it to the other side. With remaining foundation on the sponge, apply over forehead, areas around eyes, nose and mouth.
*For more coverage, take up a small amount and apply it to the concerned area.

And here are more helpful tips from Majo Majo:
-Always keep the sponge clean as a soiled sponge does not pick up the powder well.
-When the puff is soiled, cleanse in lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent as gently pressing it. Rinse thoroughly and remove excess water and allow it to completely dry away from the direct sunlight before use.

So here's a pick of my face with foundation. One with the usual foundation I use and, after rinsing it all over, with the Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation. I had to use a liquid foundation first because I have waaay too much dark spots from acne, mostly near the jawline.

1 - Mac studio fix liquid foundation in NC25 with Fashion 21 Loose powder in Medium
2 - Thinly applied Mac studio fix liquid foundation in NC25 and topped with Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation in OC10

*No concealer used in both pictures

What Majo Majo says about this product:
A foundation that evens out pores in a single stroke and provides a long-lasting fine-textured smooth skin.

Here's a pic of my cheeks (although in a different angle) when I applied the foundation. It did somehow conceal some of the huge pores. :)

Here's the finish with full makeup. Yes, I go to school with full makeup. haha!

And to test if it really is long lasting, I challenged it (and myself) by not retouching the whole time I was out. It was from 2pm- 8pm.

6 whole hours of no retouching. A bit oily but my skin still looks good in my opinion.

What I like about it:
  • Very smooth
  • Covers my pores
  • Long-lasting
  • Medium coverage (I still need my handy liquid foundation)
  • LOVE the packaging, very princessy
  • Affordable (Php 895.00) although it is a bit pricey than the one I used before :P
  • It comes with a really good sponge
  • Has SPF 18

What I don't like about it:
  •  Would have loved it more if it has better oil control :P
  • Majo Majo aren't widely available-- yet! More of their stores to open! check it out at their facebook page!
  •  It's so good that I might to buy one soon. HAHA!
The verdict? Another happy customer for Majo Majo. I really love this product. Will definitely repurchase this one. I'm actually loving every single Majo majo purchase I have. It's beginning to be one of my well-loved brands! Who knows, might turn into brand-loyalty. :P

Review: San San Soleil Lip Colours

My San San Soleil Lip Colours

These lippies are included in the San San limited edition, summer inspired makeup line. I've had these lipsticks for almost a month and I've been using them often and interchangeably everytime I go out (usually when I go to school). I like them because it comes with 3 different colors and each of them looks good with the different styles I do. Plus, they are easy to wear since they are somewhat in the neutral side. They aren't one of those matte lipsticks that are quite popular these days. They have somewhat a glossy finish.

San San Soleil Lip Colours --Peach Ibiza, Nude Carribean and Pink Tropics

Swatches applied on skin.

Applied on my lips:

Pink Tropics

Nude Carribean (My favorite!)

Peach Ibiza

Pros:

  • They come in 3 different colors
  • Affordable -- Php109.75
  • Has SPF25
  • Available in HBC stores which is very convenient for me since we have one near our house (SM San Lazaro Branch)
  • Somewhat moisturizing
  • Safe colors --- very neutral
  • Smells good.

    Cons:

    • It does some lipstick bleed after a long while
    • Not a fan of the packaging :P
    • Is not that long lasting -- have to reapply after a few hours or after eating and such
    • If you're a fan of tasty lippies, then this isn't for you. lol

My New Majolica Majorca Items ♥

Went to Mall of Asia yesterday with Liz to watch Harry Potter 7 part 2. I can't believe it's over... Anyway, I wasn't planning on buying anything except for a laptop cooler and the gel liner I promised Liz I'd get for her 2 months ago (haha!). But because of my weakness on pretty things, I wasn't able to say no on these Majo 2x items!

Majolica Majorca Aurora Tear Liner in Blue. It's one of their best-sellers recently. (Php595.00)

Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation.  (Php1,345.00)

Just look how beautiful the packaging is!!! ♥♥♥

And if you buy the foundation, you get a free Nail polish! There are different colors to choose from and I chose the Jeweling Line in GD892. It's for nail arts.

And if your purchases are worth Php 1500 or more, you get this free bag!

*Their promo will run from July 1 - July 31, 2011.

I haven't tried them out. Still busy with school work. :( But I will as soon as I can finish atleast half of what I need to. Haha. Just taking a little break for now. Well, off to work again! See ya!

    Renz's 2nd Makeover

As mentioned in my previous post, I got my classmate, Renz, to be my next makeover victim... again. I just missed putting makeup on someone else besides myself, my bestfriend, Liz, or on my sister, Trace. Anyway, we were in school so I didn't put too much nor any bold colors. I went with neutral colors.

Here's my victim, Renz. She's already beautiful without makeup on as you can see in this pic:

But of course I insisted on putting makeup on her just for fun!

    MAKEUP USED:
Covergirl Foundation Clean Makeup in Buff Beige
    Dollface Cosmetics Consealer Palette
Fashion 21 Loose Powder in No.1
    Maybelline BrowDefinist in Brown
Majolica Majorca Jewelry Eyes in RD784
Maybelline the Magnum Volum' Express Mascara
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown
    NARS Laguna Bronzer
    NARS Orgasm Blush
San San Soleil Lipstick in Nude Carribean

Here's what she look like now. I apologize for the poor quality pics because I'm only using a cheap digicam. haha. Just a light makeup (for me) for everyday!

And I also curled her hair and did a half ponytail. So princessy! haha!

More pictures! (her poses doesn't match her makeup. haha!)

So there you have it. I'll find more people to victimize. Haha. Makeovers are like one of my hobbies now. I just love prettifying! :P

What we were doing in the CR for 30 minutes

    Hi Girls!

I've been really busy in school that's why I haven't been able to post more often. My classmates and I have been really busy with our plates and thesis that we just relax and entertain ourselves with little things like getting nail arts and eating fatty foods like pizza (yummm).

Today, we did something a little different. We bonded in one of our school's comfort rooms... cutting bangs! My friend, Renz, is actually a good 'hairstylist.' She sometimes cuts her own hair and I find them really good and quite edgy. My friends, Anna and Bel, will be her 'clients' for the day.

     Renz, our hairstylist.

Anna went first. (Sorry I don't have a before pic of her hair.) :P

She asked for side bangs although it sorta look like full bangs.

Here's what she looks like after. Either cut looks good on her in my opinion. :P

Next client is Bel. She hasn't gotten bangs for a long, long, long time... if not ever. haha! She even told me before that she doesn't comb her hair regularly. I didn't thought it was weird though since I did had my hair permed and I barely comb it (only in the shower).
    Bel's before pic.
She's very nervous because we didn't tell her what cut she will get. :P

And here are her After pics. She looks sooooo cute!!!

I waited for my turn to get my bangs cut since mine is longer now. But Renz is very nervous to cut mine. I don't understand why. Hmph!

Anyway, next post will be one of my makeovers again. It's been a very long time since I made any makeover posts and I really missed doing them. So I asked our resident hairstylist to be my makeover victim once again. She, with no hesitation, agreed to my offer. Haha!

The Color of the Day is Blue: NOTD and a new Bag!

    Hello lovely readers!

Blue is such a pretty color, don't you think? I remember it used to be my favorite when I was in my pre-teens. Haha! Anyway, I've been doing a lot of nail arts on my nails and on friend's that I kind of want a plain one. I chose this color, Chic Nail Polish in Blue Velvet. This is actually Liz's. :P

Love how it makes my fingers look clean and fair. :P

Last week I bought a red satchel bag from Cole Vintage. My sister uber loves it so when she went to Robinson's Ermita, she bought the blue one as well! Good thing they still have one in stock. She told me everything else were out of stock except for the grey one!

This was the one I was supposed to get but red just looks better with my college uniform. I'm so happy my sis bought it. <3

We have 2 satchels now! Yayyy for pretty, pretty things! I want more! :P

*Btw, sorry if we've been very inactive in our blog lately. I'm busy with school and thesis and my sister, Tracy is preparing to go to Germany for a month.
